THE EVENT There are still a few places left on this weekend
A weekend of English Country Dance (#32 in the series) to suit a wide range of tastes, with dances from the period c1650 to the present day including New England Contras and Squares. It is aimed at enthusiasts who enjoy their dancing and aspire to improve their skills, and knowledge of English Country Dance, but not at the expense of courtesy and cordiality. The emphasis will be firmly on enjoyment.
The weekend commences with dinner on the evening of Friday 4th October 2013 and concludes with a farewell dance on the afternoon of Sunday 6th October. There will be a mixture of dances & workshops, and some free time to explore the beautiful Devon Countryside.

The series is organised and led by John & Hilary Turner. The calling is shared between John and our 'Guest Caller' (see below). John calls dances in a variety of styles from Playford to 'New England' Contras, see John's CV. The music is provided by our 'Guest Musicians' (see below). Hilary is Booking Secretary & Hostess. |

GUEST CALLER - Maggie Hosking
| Born in North Wales, I “discovered” folk dancing in 1990 after moving to Warwickshire – life changing.
I’ve displayed from Scandinavia to Madeira and from Hungary to USA with Variations, English Lavender
and Wayfarers – now their choreographer.
I call at my club Milverton, Hampton Dances, Midland venues, the Southam Gathering
and Alan Davies’ winter holidays.
I endeavour to bring enthusiasm, humour and clarity to the dance floor. And a Welsh dance often appears on my programme! |

| THE VENUE.
The Langstone Cliff Hotel This popular hotel is a short drive from both Exeter and Torquay and is set in 19 acres of woodland overlooking the Exe estuary in Devon, with beautiful views across the river to Exmouth & beyond. It is a 3 star hotel has a spacious ballroom & large, comfortable public rooms. There are also infoor & outdoor swimming pools. CHARGES
The charges include Full Board from Dinner on Friday Evening to Lunch on Sunday including
Morning Coffee / Tea both days, and a cup of Tea before departure on the Sunday
Afternoon as well as dancing Friday & Saturday Evenings, Saturday & Sunday Morning workshops & a Sunday afternoon Farewell Dance.
For persons sharing a double or twin room the
cost of the weekend is £214.00 per person.
For those requiring a
single room (only 5 available) the charge is
£239.00.
A discount of £5.00 per person will be deducted from the
balance for bookings made before 23rd April 2013.
BOOKING POLICY & PROCEDURE
Single guests please note that if you are sharing and subsequently need to cancel your
booking you may incur the full charge if a suitable replacement for you cannot be found.
Please book early to avoid disappointment. We fill up very quickly.

If you have any special dietary requirements or prefer decaffeinated coffee please include
the information on the booking form so that the hotel can be notified.
The balance of payment is due on 20th August 2013.
